    Nice swarm i captured today in Norwich. Swarm was about 15ft up in the tree. Within an hour of the last photo being taken all the bees apart from a few stragglers had taken up residence in the nuc box. Nice end to the day.

    Picked up one for £60 only problem is..... its galvanised but clean as a whistle.... So still not sure if I can use it or not? I do know of a commercial beek who uses one and thinks I'm mad splashing out for another one but this time plastic as stainless steel is a bit beyond my budget.

    She has a super with plenty of honey above her (Winter feed) and also I've got fondant in reserve. I am generally astounded at the quick responses I have received thank you all so much.

    She's a young queen (2012) and the cells where spread accross two frames in the centre of the original brood.

    I have to say I glued mine with waterproof PVA.....The instructional video shows best how this is done.

    How many apiaries in your neck of the woods?

    Yes and have updated records.... So that should solve the "Unknown" I actually registered before I got my nuc.
