    Any spare honey to sell?

Hello, :ot: I have been asked by a fellow village friend, a supporter of local honey...bees etc etc.... if I can source 70 8oz jars (without label) of local (Guildford/Godalming) honey. They are to be given as favours at her daughters wedding with their own "wedding label". If you do happen to...

Wasps eating through side of poly nuc pics

Thank you all. The poly particles that have been used to make this poly seem to be much larger than my previous purchase. Perhaps this is the issue..as I think mentioned above. I contacted payn*s about this but was told that I could fix the problem with a lick of paint. Oh well...

Wasps eating through side of poly nuc pics

I recently purchased a poly nuc. A week after feeding with sugar syrup I noticed that wasps were eating their way through the side of the poly nuc where the food reservoir is....anyone know if painting the nuc will help? see attached pics

    Strange Tasting Honey

Could it be horse chest-nut perhaps? I understand that this can cause the honey to taste as described, similar to what I harvested this year.

    Newbie

Welcome Graeme I am a newbee and still feel rather clueless at the best of times. I would also add that if possible try find a mentor to help inspect your hives, mine has been invaluable. No doubt you'll manage without but it does make it all 'easier'. Enjoy!

    Jelly Honey anyone?

Source Wikipedia HideNatural examples Some clays are thixotropic, with their behavior of great importance in structural and geotechnical engineering. Landslides, such as those common in the cliffs around Lyme Regis, Dorset and in the Aberfan spoil tip disaster in Wales are evidence of this...

    Dead Brood

I don't think a shook swam was mentioned by the inspector but my mentor did. It was suggested that I could take some brood frames from my healthly hive and put them into the sac brood hive, although just another option. I preferred the requeen option as it seems to be a process that has worked...

    Dead Brood

The inspector looked at the bees last night and said that it was a bad case of sac brood. Prognosis for this hive is not good as it is a small hive so will try to requeen and see how it goes. Thankfully our other hive is healthy and going great guns. Thanks to all for your valuable advice...

    Dead Brood

The brood patern looked good before moving the hive. It's been chilly here during the night and of course raining all the time AND it was a small hive to start off with. The rapid feeder was hardly touched so perhaps it is "just" chilled brood. I think this sounds like a real possibility, in my...
