Hi all,
I moved to Reading recently and unfortunately find myself without a place to keep my two hives. :(
Unfortunately I don't own a car, so it will have to be within walking distance of Caversham Road.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Rob.
Hi all,
A friend of mine recently heated honey for cooking and it turned really sour. I haven't experienced this myself and google doesn't seem to come up with anything useful either.
Has anyone ever experienced this?
Cheers!
Rob.
I left the block in last year, but noticed the bees were struggling to get in and out on sunny days, so this year I'll leave it out and will just put the mouse guard on.
Aye, plenty of fallen over trees and blown off branches on the road here in Cambridge as well. Glad I put some heavy rocks on my hives yesterday; they're still upright.
Hi all,
Last year I bought half a litre of pre-mixed oxalic acid solution and only used 50ml of that. It has now expired. This year I'll need 100ml, as I've got a second hive.
Still seems like quite a waste though.
How easy/dangerous is it to mix your own solution?
Cheers,
Rob.
From what I've heard, popping a petrol drenched rag in and putting the roof back on does the trick as a last resort.
Can't you merge them with another colony instead?
