For once I agree with jenkinsbrymair regarding using a smoker. Recent research has shown that the smoke de-sensitises the bees’ antennae for 10 minutes or so. Which means that they don’t react to the alarm pheromone.

One of the things that contributed to the spread of AH in France is the fact that a property owner might have to pay for nest removal. Thus a disincentive to reporting nests if they were not bothering the property owners.

Well I read somewhere that they found honey in one of the pyramids that was 3000years old and still edible. On that basis your honey should be edible if it was stored in a sealed tub.
