    Finding a new beekeeper

A bit put back at some of the hostile responses. Having met so many fine individuals at the last BFA open day that my dad put on , some of who probably reside on these here forums such negativity seems unwarranted. I really like the idea of ex-service personnel, seems a excellent idea. :thanks:

I'm thinking of placing an Ad in the local news agents. Being seasonal work is quite challenging.... and for full time employment you have to make a lot of honey!

    Finding a new beekeeper

ooops ok sorry let me rephrase that. He actually really enjoyed the job but of course working in this country isn't as profitable as it once was with the exchange rate and all. I think this is typical of many farming industry jobs. It was hardly minimum wage, so i'm sorry i gave that impression...

    Finding a new beekeeper

Unfortunately, our chap from the continent has decided to take his last sting. The flagging pound, variable weather and our aggressive bees has sent him packing. This leaves us with a massive surplus of bees, high honey demand that we cant meet. Any pointers on where to find someone willing...

    How's your summer flow doing?

Im actually getting a less than expected average over my 300 production hives (now around 400). 80lbs average, well below our long term average of 100lbs (northamptonshire - > worcestershire). 40lbs spring, 40 lbs summer. I think it was the dry spell that brought the flowers on early and they...
