    I have been quoted £3.40 for a half pound jar, which is there wholesale price. With a recommended retail price of £4.75, that would make it £9.50 a lb! Which i think is a bit steep, and would never sell in my shop.

    I know they are expensive, and dangerous. That is why you cannot use most treatments when the birds are housed. I also need to be sure that it will work, I only get 2 weeks to clean out 12,000 birds. There are plenty of products that work well, it is trial and error. I have never had success...

    Farm disinfectants will only work against red mite if they can dissolve wax. Red mite have a waxy coating that can be dissolved with detergents to dehydrate them. Poultry shield is the most popular and most effective of the detergent options, although it is just fairy liquid in a posh bottle...

    Rabbit Control

    You need some birds of prey, last week I counted 14 red kites and 5 buzzards. They seem to be eating everything in sight, they even pin my chickens to the floor and eat them alive. I haven't seen a rabbit for a couple of years.
