    Help understanding android app permissions

That permission is usually for apps that need to keep the screen on. For example a video player would be pretty useless if the screen went to sleep every two minutes. Paul Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

    small wine bottles for mead

Can anyone point me to a supplier of clear glass half size wine bottles (350 or 375 ml)? I have my first couple of batches in demijohns and will need to bottle them eventually. I don't expect to drink it in great quantities so half bottles would be best. Thanks, Paul

    3d printing and beekeeping

I have a 3d printer. I build myself a MENDELMAX last year. I used to keep stabbing my fingers on the sharp pins on my "crown of thorns" thingy for queen marking. I printed a holder for the crown of thorns - a ring with a little hole for each of the pins. No more spiked fingers! I am seriously...

    Observation hive questions

MrGrumpy - thank you for a very helpful response to my questions. It says you are "New Bee" with no hives. I don't believe it. richardbees - I am aware they are difficult. I was asking the questions I do not know the answer to, not the ones I do know - to paraphrase Rumsfeld, the known...

    Observation hive questions

Does anyone out there have experience of observation hives. I am making a five frame observation hive that we be used to show bees to the public at an event at the end of July and have a couple of questions. It is in a flat configuration with the frames stacked vertically between two 10 mm thick...

Wind farms - any effects on bees?

The reason they save money is the highly subsidized price they get paid for the electricity supplied to the grid - the so-called feed in tariff. This money does not come from nowhere, it is raised from increased energy prices for everyone. It is effectively a highly regressive tax on the poor...

    Bee sting desensitisation course

The docs on my desensitization course recommend taking a ceterizine tablet before the injection to minimize the local symptoms - itching and swelling. They told me it will make no difference at all to anaphylaxis. Another doctor (the wife!) told me that the "non-drowsy" antihistamines are not...

    Bee sting desensitisation course

Wow, I knew it must be expensive - 50 outpatients appointments - but I have never heard an actual figure. I have spoken to my doctors and also read as much of the research literature as I can find and the success of the venom immunotherapy (VIT) is commonly quoted as greater than 90%. My...
