Yesterday I removed a colony from inside a disused chimney. I can't be certain I got the queen (infact i doubt it) so I left the hive on top of the chimney stack with all the comb in in the hope the remaining bees make there way in. How long would you suggest I leave it up there one or two days...

Although I hav collected many swarms I have never removed an entire colony from a loft space. Iv not seen it yet or know if I can get access to it but was wondering if anyone had any tips they could share with me? Thanks part timer.

Yeh 10 kg dose sound like a lot haha, I must have got that wrong but was told approximately 25000 bees. They are almost out of feed at the said ratio above. Should I continue feeding them? As iv only had them three days so surely should:hairpull:

Its a rapid feeder and each pack contained 10 kg apparently

I recived two packages of bees on sunday night and they hav almost emptied the feeders I gave them. How long should I keep feeding them for as I dont want to open up the hive yet? Also will the pacages have come with drones in as one of the hives seem to have two drones at the entrance?

Hi all, looking for some advice. I caught a primary swarm last year from a feral colony in a hotel wall and was wondering if I should change the queen his year or will the bees supersede her themselves? Iv not managed an inspection on said hive this year yet though due to the bad weather but...

Move the trap to the other end of the field over the hedge or any territory boundry you have spotted the birds fighting around. I move mine the minute I have caught the resident pair, untill I have been right round the estate with the traps, then start again.

Not inspected my hives yet but have gave them syrup and they are bringing in pollen.

Thanks for all the posts. Just running out of patients for this good weather to come haha . Il clean up some old brood boxes tomorrow instead.
