That's kind of my thinking bakerbee...it's my first full season with an initial mix bought early August last year and a swarm caught late last August.. A few up A and downs...slow to expand...the bought bud has produced about y frames of honey...not sure how much is capped...the swarm only...

So firstly...I have just put 5 drawn out super frames in the freezer...I presume I need to defrost them before sealing in a plastic bag but do I need to dry them well first and how? Secondly ..I may have around four frames of honey to extract...I can get hold of an extracter but the owner is...

The plan is to move them into a full hive this week..I'll take a look at them both then...cheers!

Tonight I watched nuc 1 ..bought last summer and strong ...a few bees were drifting in and out of nuc 2...swarm caught last summer..weaker but still here... Are they Robbing or just orientating? I did give nuc 2 one of their frames of stores about a fortnight ago... Has this attracted them...

Lol.. Such diversity!!. I was thinking stylish mini tents pegged down but also as you say millet trying to way up the down side of which I'm sure there is ... And no..we will have some good weather...two glorious days this weekend....much needed....Bees were frantic. . But it is northern...

Just thinking ahead for winter.. Does anyone make or use rain coats for their hives in winter? Any reason to or not to?
