I have 8 dadant hives for sale with nicot varroa floors,10 frame brood box,queen excluder, 2x 8frame super, crown board and metal roof. They have last years buckfast/Derbyshire queens. Only selling due to moving abroad

Very good point Rae, I think a lot of hobby bee keepers have just been caught out by the change in weather and forage. I think it might have been a steep learning curve this year. I just hope people learn from there mistake,we have all messed things up over the years and it is very down...

Well it wasn't me I've mainly been collecting from school at the mo. Although I did watch some old boy trying to collect a swarm of bees in a car park in Hampshire and had to smile. He wasn't having the best of luck and seemed to be rather flustered,maybe it was the crowd watching him or just...

One of my swarm today was in the middle of a flagged patio under a laurel bush,apparently it was in the bush but fell out lol, as soon as I put the old nuc on the floor they went racing in. not worthy

3 swarms today, 2 prime and one second cast. What a busy day :sifone:

No I've seen a swarm resting on transformers before, so I don't think they really mind them. But even I'm not daft enough to try and collect those :gnorsi::gnorsi:

Well at last the nice weather arrives and I've just collected my first swarm of the year. A nice 4/5 lb swarm that was only only 5 ft off the ground hanging in a pine tree. Perfect :biggrinjester:

I have to say transformer for me too, think it's much quicker.

Not sure if any have been advertised chris but the hives are danant and both hives and supers are both numbered. If you come across any more bargins like that and you don't want or need please pass on lol

Hi chris, well they are in parthenay which is in the Poitou- Charentes so get laughing hehe. It's not anti foreigner as some of the locals have had there hives stolen from thouars/noirt in the last few years. It has been noticed by G.I.P.A 79 which have sent letters out. Had 3 hive stolen last week from my parents house in France. The light fingered person must have been a bee keeper as they actually went through all ten hives and picked the three strongest and took the equipment they wanted from the rest. WHY would another bee keeper do this??????:mad::mad::mad:
