    Queen Theft Ceredigion

Because of hard evidence that someone had been in the apiary ie damage to fence, dropped container (pictured above) and evidence that other hives had been disturbed. From the laying pattern she was removed approx. 3 days ago.

    Queen Theft Ceredigion

This was dropped by whoever stole a Queen from one of my hives in the last three days, (they would have taken more but she was the only marked one).Dyfed Powys police would like to talk to the owner regarding damage to property, trespass and theft. Beekeepers in the SA48 post code area need to...

    Swarm Ownership

I think "in law" honeybees are wild animals and as such do not belong to anyone. Varroa natural mite drop

    Varroa natural mite drop

Very low mite drop on my hives this month (typical less than one a day). Any one else finding this? Normally expect much higher at this time of year. Lots of possible reasons but would be interested in other bk's findings.

    Frame of eggs

It can be an indication whether or not the bees think they have a queen or not, but of course that "queen" could be a dlq or laying workers.... so just because they don't draw QC's doesn't mean all is well.

    BDI Scheme B

Third party indemity is coverd by association membership. Frames/foundation (not bees) that are destroyed as a result of confirmed foulbrood are coverd by BDI. The experiences of many is that it is poor value for money and not worth the effort and in some cases aggro!

Escaped sheep kicked over one of my hives...

In which case the sheep are still on his land, but if they escape and trespass on your land the law is clear and my original comments apply.

Escaped sheep kicked over one of my hives...

The farmer is responsible for fencing his stock in, not for you to fence it out, he/she is liable for any damage/costs his escaped sheep might cause.
