    chaos in my hives

I have an appointment with a local beekeeper later this week when work and weather permit. She is of the opinion that the weather has put the queens off lay, but we are going to try a frame in one hive as a test. Thank you Tonybloke and Cazza - I hope not to need to contact you :nature-smiley-011:

    Another sting question

I find antihistamines (both piriton and Zirtek varieties) are of little use if I get stung. Similarly little effect with anthisan cream. 24 hours after the sting I get swelling and severe itching which lasts for another 48 hours, so this season I'm going to try Eurax, just to relieve the itching...

    chaos in my hives

Thank you erichalfbee! :blush5: (not sure that's going to work...) I am part of a BKA but haven't had much contact lately so it seems unfair to expect help. I've emailed a local beekeeper to see if she can help. I will send progress reports.

    chaos in my hives

I'm still a newbee, and here in mid Norfolk the weather for the last three weeks has been mostly cold and wet. Since this is my first spring...

    cold and wet?

chaos in my hives I'm still a newbee too, and here in mid Norfolk the weather for the last three weeks has been mostly cold and wet. Since this is my first spring I've been torn between wanting to see what is going on in my two hives, and not getting them cold. So in the half hour between 3...

    regulations on food safe equipment

Thank you all for your speedy and informative replies! I will go and study the regulations now, and make a few enquiries locally about food hygiene certificates, in a general sort of way... I remember all the fuss that was caused a few years ago about WI Markets having to close because none of...

    regulations on food safe equipment

I am a very new bee. Can anyone help me end an argument and point me at the actual regulations that govern what equipment can or can't be used for honey processing please? I'm thinking specifically about food safe equipment. Thank you.
