i find that when i provide pollen mix after harvesting and in early spring the brood production improve and benefits from it. Particularly in summer after harvest, feeding the bees with feedbee or ultra bee increases winter brood production and prepare them for winter better. i don't feed alot...

I am after Feedbee the pollen substitute which is is not sold in uk. used to be able to get ultra bee from bee equipment but now they also took it away and only sell 3XXg mini tubs and i believe thats the last of their stocks.

i usually leave the extractor by my hives for a few hours after extraction the bees clean it up spick and span... then gentle hose down and store.

why do you need to add syrup?

No I kept 1 Queen cell in the brood box so if its still there if I check in a few days I'd let them requeen from this single queen cell. I didn't wanna keep 2 because this hive seem to have habit of casting...
