    Queenless hive

So laying workers would not kill the queen's in the other hives then? Is that due to them being established in that hive

    Queenless hive

I got 3 right this min I started with a swarm then split with old queen so she's in a hive the new queen has a hive and then the original hive minus a queen

    Queenless hive

Yeah that's the worry so was planning on removing that hive and moving the next doo hive over slightly so any bees out flying will go into the moved hive to strengthen them up for winter or is there a rish that the laying workers could be out flying and end up in moved over hive? Do laying...

    Queenless hive

Hi guys I have a queenless hive, I was going to unite my nuc with new queen but since waiting for new queen to setyle in etc the queenless hive has produced a drone laying worker. I don't want to risk uniting and the laying worker killing queen so I'm thinking of removing the hive would this be...

    Splitting

To be honest it was another beekeeper that did suggest it to me which has now frazzled my mind in what to do, I can see what he means about 2 hives is better than 1 for winter etc but it does worry me a little about splitting my my hive

    Splitting

Would it be better to just do a split by removing some frames rather than removing old queen and a frame of brood etc
  9. J

    Splitting

That is true would they still draw them out if I have removed queen or would they concentrate on making new queen cells

    Splitting

I dont think I will have any luck with honey this Yr, I put a super on 2 weeks ago so foundation frames and they haven't even touched them I know weather has been rubbish, this is why I think I should concentrate on peeping them for winter

    Splitting

Flow seems to have slowed down they are still bringing in yellow pollen. Would it be sensible to do the split now and make 2 weaker hives rather than one strong? I just want a some back up if it doesn't make it through winter then I will have to start all over again next Yr and be in same...

    Splitting

Hi guys, Not sure if this is the right idea So i'm thinking of splitting my hive to give me back up for winter. My colony was a swarm given to me and they have done really well the brood box is full up with eggs, capped brood etc and so many bees. As I don't know how old the queen is I was...

Super has been added but no interest

I feel like it's a mixture of everything the frames towards front and rear of Hive def seem more stores where as middle 5 or 5 frames are more eggs etc

Super has been added but no interest

Brood box is full up apart from one frame right at front of Hive, all frames feel very heavy queen still laying egg in old hatched capped cells

Super has been added but no interest

I'm going to leave for another week, I really don't think I will get any honey of them this Yr so they can have what ever they make for winter
