    My first season.Queen was marked but as the hive has expanded I can't find her,think her mark has worn off. Plenty of q cups on bottom of frames so wanting to do an AS. Best method without finding the Q please????

    warmer weather on mon

    I have to agree with my other "Cumbrian" beekeepers--its about time it was warm and sunny up here.Relatively new to the area-as are my bees and they keep begging me for sun and no showers!

    thanks to all and in response-moved from Cheshire/Shropshire border. Queen bee named Flavia by my daughter--previous one was Beth but she absconded! Hive situated on a wall so well off the ground.

    Hi,am now resident in Cumbria (south) and would value any advice on the difficulties of keeping the damp at bay. Bess didn't appreciate the extreme wet just after moving them in early September but now seem a bit happier. Any help greatly appreciated.

    thanks to all.I had taken the super off for transportation to new home. treated for varoa a week ago with super off but gave them back the stores at yesterdays inspection.I will have a look and see how many bees in the super and maybe take it off them again while feeding--what do you think??

    yes-they have had one Rx a week ago but have left the supers as I won't be extracting honey this year.A late start with them so leaving the little they have for their own use.
