    Wanted Beehives

Hi All, I am looking for 4 full hives with good queen and docile bees. I am in Uxbridge near Heathrow.

    National Beehives for sale

I looked after the hives well last year and were Verroa treated at the end of the season. I had a reasonable honey crop as well. Obviously, this is the time of year one should start managing them properly ( AS, Verroa, etc).

    Virgin Queen

I had similar situation to Dewin Dwl, but perhaps 2 weeks ahead. Patience is the key. I inspected last week after leaving it alone for over 3 weeks. Found lots of brood, capped and uncapped as well as eggs. Did not see the queen. It might be worth mentioning that there was lots of stores and...

Shall I attempt using the Apidea?

Thank you all for your replies. I had a go using the Apidea with a virgin queen and some bees (less than what is recommended). Left them for for over 3 weeks. When I inspected them last week I found one frame still untouched, the second is well build with stores and the 3rd had stores and...

    Insurance question

Hi, A friend of mine was approached by a company who want him to keep some of his hives on their grounds. They also offered to pay him some money for keeping them there (every bee keeper's dream for an Out-Apiary). They didn't ask for anything in return (e.g. share of the honey). He reckons it...

Shall I attempt using the Apidea?

Thanks guys. I will try and see what happens. Just received an email from my Beekeeping Association telling us that Mr.Terry Clare, who is the President of Bibba, and an expert on the use of mini mating nucs is visiting us on the 20th to talk about Apideas and give practical hands on...

P.H. I will have a look at them tomorrow morning, then I will tell you how many frames they are covering. I hived them in a 11 frames BB that is partly drawn with few frames of stores.
