3mm to thick, you use whats available the bees have not complained and the weight has meant the roofs have stayed on.
Do all printers use the plates and what do you ask for, just printing plates?
Try looking for a local company that makes air conditioning ducting or similar, I picked up am 8x4 sheet 3mm for £20 plus £5 to cut it to sizes I needed (in Swansea)

For aliminium sheet its worth looking for a company that makes ventilation ducting in your area. I have a local firm that sell it at £20 for a 8 x 4 sheet and an extra £5 to cut it to size.
Hi Ferret Girl
Thanks for putting up the post, I am starting with bees this year and at the momment sit at the side of the forum and read.
I have learnt alot from this thread
dont give up and let us know how you get on
best of luck
Plywood has 20% off if you buy 5 sheets and than a further 20% off because you have spent £50. The price would still be more expensive than Selco although I think the plywood is possibly a better qaulity at B&Q.
This is my first year at bee keeping
We are building our own hives and I purchased parts from BJ Engineering
I went up to Worcester and meet Brian who still is not in the best of health, but still involved with the business and bees
The products were well made and I would buy from him again...
