    Varroa on bees Photo

    Wow - great photo. As a newcomer to all this, that sort of photo is a real eye opener - books are great (I know the bees don't read them!) but this sort of info is invaluable.

    I'd go with Hornet Hoverfly too -shouldn't be a bother IMHO (to you or your bees!) - might mean you've got some wasp nests near you though ?

    Ants attack !!!

    Just to say - dont use ant powder! It's not instant, it's designed to get on the worker ants who then take it back to the queen thus killing the nest. If the ants take it into the hive, it'll do the same to the bees.
