    Double crown board boards

Is wool not used ? can't imagine it is that expensive, I know there were stories about farmers dumping it a few years ago as price they were getting for it was so low. Would probably need an initial treatment/disinfectant.

    Orchard planting

Would recommend worcester pearmain, lovely eating apple. Do you have deer nearby? These seem to love munching on the buds on young apple trees and then rutting against them later in the year. They seem to ignore willow, oak, chestnut etc.

    fungus that kills Varroa mites

my point was just that it may be a slightly more feasible route to investigate than rubharb leaves, sea salt or lavender

    Problems with drawn comb

It's Texas, I assume there is a longer season there (Google says it's still 27c) so may not be to late to save this season. No idea what's flowering over there at this time of year though

    Extracting Workshop.....OUTSIDE

Their equipment and hives all look brand new on the website, is it their first time extracting? Could get interesting very quick “Children are coming free, two children accompanied by 1 adult, adult tickets must be booked.” will be a few traumatised kids after this

    Heather honey 2022?

You can save the foundation by just scraping off the cells back to the foundation, it's a bit of a messy job and may be a lot of faff if you have a lot of supers but I suppose you'd need to weigh up the effort vs adding foundation back to the frames. Frames will also be a little bit drawn (vs...

Are you able to breed bees that can dodge swallows?

    Supercedure Number 1 desirable trait

All well and good until she can't mate due to poor weather or gets picked off by a swallow, do you attest that to bad genes and requeen that colony with a queen from a luckier hive?

    questionable teaching or not?

"the very experienced bee keeper I got them from" This is always a red flag for me, when you are new to beekeeping, anyone who has a few hives will seem like a very experienced beekeeper, it doesn't mean they are the fountain of knowledge. He may be good and you can probably learn a lot from...
