Was talking to them on the phone on Thursday and they'd no plans to order more yet, only sell the limited amount of stock left

    Pineboard/lamwood hives

It's not plywood, strips of knot free pine glued together into 8x4 sheets. It can be gotten with waterproof glue

Anyone build their hives out of pineboard/lamwood? Any thoughts, seems to be more popular in Eastern Europe but not mentioned on here

    Pollen

You can buy irradiated pollen from Spain also by the tonne. Probably more cost effective after shipping

    Jar Filling Machines

Have the older lyson one with the impeller pump. The newer model has a gear pump and I presume drips less. I have the bigger turntable and wouldn't want it to be any smaller

Here come comes Hive Beetle !

It would be a lot easier to just replace those wild genes with buckfast or carnica...

Here come comes Hive Beetle !

I think unless you do something similar to the carnica population there will never be progress. Really what's being created then is an Amm subspecies to replace or eradicate the wild/unselected genes

Here come comes Hive Beetle !

Beekeeping with pure amm and little to no influence from imports doesn't result in the utopia that you suggest it would

Here come comes Hive Beetle !

Some of the most vocal against imports into Ireland were also the biggest exporters for a time (no idea if that's still the case). It was never possible to get health certificates issued for bees in Ireland.

Here come comes Hive Beetle !

    Black bees?

Here come comes Hive Beetle !

1kg of package bees with queen is probably costing €55 each collected from northern Italy. Add in transport, 5 frames and a gallon of Syrup and maybe a 90% queen acceptance rate
