I got permission to keep bees on my allotment from the town council; did the course and got my bee mentor to check the proposed position. All great for the first 4-5 months and was great to see them daily. Have the bigest plot (about third of acre) on site then 1 colony (of the pair) went ape...
Had two colonies on my allotment (with council permission) for 6 months without any trouble and over the August weekend one colony turned VERY nasty and stung neighbouring allotment holders and I ended up hiding out in my allotment shed until the calverly arrived!
Thankfuly found a local...
Got my 1st one from Hivemaker, 2nd from Thornes sale then x3 more from Hivemaker and relegated Thornes to use as spares as not a patch to Hivemaker's. Cost of cedar is more but no maintenance like pine.
