Do you normally get results by being offensive?

I thought I had runny honey, after 2 weeks it was soft set.....

As dishmop adviced. Ask him to turn the hive (not move), so the entrance faces in another direction, ie maybe the opposite direction of your garden, if possible....

if you shake the frame and honey is not dripping out, it is ready to extract...

You'll probably pay more for a nuc in the spring than you would now, as people have to feed the bees through the winter. Hives still expanding very quickly now, so would probably build up to a good size colony before the winter. Plus it would be good practise and you have time for some more...

you need to put the hives at different angles, so the entrances face in slightly different directions (ie semi circle), as far as I know...

ok will go through my hives during the next few days. when it stops raining....should be fine, I've got way too many. Do you want to sent me a nuc box and I'll put them in there for you? Then you can collect them when it suits you?

I have a hive on double brood. I find the amount of bees in the full hive of double brood quite scary.....(they are quite bad tempered as well, but finding the queen is difficult, when I struggle to open the hive, without them coming after me!). I want to go back to single brood box....

swarms had a call about a swarm Friday morning. Boxed it and would collect in the evening, but it had gone an hour later. Friday evening picked up a small cast. Wednesday had a call about a swarm, had another beekeeper collect it, as I have run out of spare kit. Call about swarm in compost...
