    Hello from West Wales

Welcome from Caerphilly, but I'm up Synod Inn way a few times a year visiting family just down the road at Ffos y ffin, I'd also recommend a chat at the New Quay honey farm.

A good lesson for new Beeks...

I've sat hives for people who couldn't get to them for one reason or another,It's good to have someone as a back up if you had to have an operation or had to go away on work.

    British black bee

I have some dark bees and they can be evil I've been stung by them every time I've worked them. Find some gentle bees as you don't want to be put off & they will be more forgiving if or when you roll them etc.

    Best hive for beginner?

If I was starting again I'd go 14x12 poly :)

Which hive if you started from scratch?

Nat poly but would of voted 14x12 poly if the option had been there.

Beekeeping in a Built Up Area

I'd always recommend an out apiary, you never know when or if you might need to move your bee's, it's handy to have a back up site.
