    BeeTradex

I'd put it down to not being updated. Interestingly Maisemore have BeeTradex listed on the events on their website. Would be good to know if they are going.

Bee farmer / Commercial queen rearing

If its studying for the BBKA M7 I wouldn't be too worried about knowing what people do - by large scale essentially what they seem to mean is raising multiple rounds of queens using grafting as the means of larval transfer. 1. It varies, but 100+. 2. Grafting. 3. Cloake board. 4,5 and 6. I...

    BeeTradex

My big question around Tradex is how many of the big domestic suppliers are going to be there? All well and good encouraging smaller suppliers - but realistically the reason I (and I suspect many others go) is to buy standard equipment, not the niche type products smaller suppliers make. At the...

    Bfa

The first year I applied was around this time of year, so it ran from the January. There's various pieces of evidence you can use - you'll be provided with a list - so a sponsor is one, but there's so many others it shouldn't be particularly hard to add to the application.

    CO2 Setup for II

That was my initial thought - what regulator is it you use?

    CO2 Setup for II

I'm in the process of putting together the equipment for II next season, but am struggling with the regulators for CO2. Ideally I want something portable as the equipment will be shared with other beekeepers. Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions as to equipment they use?

    Suppliers

Equipment all installed last week - first big run of honey yesterday and found the next pinch point - filtering. Any suggestions as to a way I can speed this up?

    Suppliers

Lyson - via Abelo. In the end they were the easiest to deal with. Was getting increasingly fed up of speaking to sales people that couldn't give me dimensions and didn't return emails. Pleased with your kit?

    Suppliers

Yeah all sorted now - due to arrive shortly. Actually worked out cheaper purchasing the individual elements of the line rather than an all in one like I was initially planning.

    BIBBA presentation (BedsBKA)

Again, I'll make the point that it wasn't about breeding though - it was explaining what had been done in Essex. In terms of your daughter queens, one was used for a particular characteristic (rapid build up) to provide the brood used to create later nucs for distribution. Actually, these...

    BIBBA presentation (BedsBKA)

You can't have it both ways - it specifies in the email Queen Rearing. YOU are the one confusing rearing and breeding here because it suits what you are trying to say. My suggestion is that you give a talk on the breeding group in Bedfordshire or write a report that can be circulated on its...

The talk wasn't about breeding at all. The clue was in the title Abberton Native Bee Reserve.

Also quite a few of us stayed behind for quite a length of time - I had time to have several conversations before having time to speak to Kevin.

    BIBBA presentation (BedsBKA)

I strongly feel it's important that there is a different viewpoint on this as I feel that this is very different to what actually took place at the meeting. 1. He did state the origin of the queens and that they were from different lines. He then went on to explain genetic transfer in...
