    hi guys/girls. I have national beehives but someone bought/gave me a new langstroth hive. It looks great and I want to use it but how do I do a split from my nationals to the new langstroth. I know how to do a split but what I mean is,how to I get them to fit in the different size...

    when is it to late in the year to bring on a new queen ....ie....taking a frame of eggs and to a queenless colony/nuc box and letting them make there own queen,,would she still get mated at this time of year ?,just curious

    Full super

    I'm glad I saw ur post,,,,i had two hives with one super on each almost full....I decided to leave them til they were completely full....two weeks later after a period of wet and windy weather, all was empty....not that I'm both as the bees needed it to survive...but very interesting

    I'm central Scotland,,The queen has a great brood pattern with plenty of eggs,,lava of all stages and capped brood on 5 frames,,,there still seems to be more room for more laying,,,they also have some stores left over from the winter in the outter frames of the brood box....we have a super on...

    one of my hives (in the last two weeks) has become very aggressive. The bees just seem to attack in force. they even follow us back to the car and stay with us for a bit of a time. Now I'm aware how to deal with requeening but I just don't want to rush into anything to quickly if there is anyway...

    brood box/boxes

    just a little interested in how many beekeepers use one brood box or two brood boxes or 14x12......does anyone use just one standard brood box and if so,,,does this work well ?

    Shutting bees in

    do exactly what u said u are going to do,,,if there is enough stores then leave a feeder with some water,,i have done this as I have my hives in an apple orchard,,,doing what u said does no hard or stress
