Help! Bees left hive and moved into tree.

The photos look like A. Cerana (Asian honeybee) which maintains smaller colonies...

    Oxallic Vaporization

Yup :) Sorry, looking back it seems I misread what you'd written Yup, I have that model, I know Th**** sell it, probably others do as well. Made a few myself before buying that one. They worked, but weren't nearly as well made. The temp and timing isn't a problem, you just plug a power...

    Oxallic Vaporization

Don't guess. Read papers. Once you've done that I'll be interested ;)

    Haven't found that so far.

What are you going to do with winter losses?

I agree, (well except for being picky about the sugar brand :) ).

How and when It's the only treatment I use on my bees.

    Oxallic Vaporization

As mentioned in other threads, vapourisation causes less damage to the bees that adding it to sugar syrup.

What are you going to do with winter losses?

Importation of queens increases the risk of importing new diseases, which could impact colony losses, but to raise it as an issue for Autumn brood rearing? With such a large variety of bees that can be imported, it seems like a huge generalisation. Certainly the queens I've imported in previous...

No proof. I'm sure someone tried to bring up ley lines in one of the lectures at the NHS, trying to see lines in incomplete data.

    Buckfast Bees

The point is a bit more straight forward than that. It's the the introduced Grey is more able to take advantage of the current environment it finds itself in, rather than the native Red.

    Buckfast Bees

and the follow post from me pointed out there are many reasons for a species demise. I find it surprising that it needs pointing out. That's not really true. There is millions of years you can look back at for examples. Yes, he does seem to have had a good jolly around the world looking...

    Buckfast Bees

Some dinosaurs did evolve and survive. I was making an example of one rather large and obvious species that was around for a long time, and for some reason died out. There's is an almost endless list of species, both historical and recent that aren't around any more. The various reasons for...

    Buckfast Bees

The length of time something has existed as a species doesn't give any guarantees that it will continue to survive. "Triceratops had been around much longer than beekeepers have and certainly, some diseases may test the species but certainly in the end the Triceratops will evolve and survive."...
