beeboybee, if you take a look at my original post starting this thread, the question was exactly regarding the metal rails/runners. Yes infact those boxes are designed to take metal runners.
Hombre, thanks for the very informative reply. Infact, I got a reply by email from David himself. I will need 6mm runners. I've assemble the hive over a dozen times already!! Virtually on computer :) I have all the dimensions on a CAD, so I can get a good 3D view of how everything will sit...
Hi. I am building my own National Hives, following the drawings of David Cushman. WIll I need to use frame runners in the Brood and Super boxes?
thanks
 I don't know!! Nobody wants to tell me or they don't have a clue either!! When I ask, people just say ... 'oh, you need a wooden box!' lol
Basically i joined this forum to get some info. This is not the right thread though. I'm plannng to get a colony of bees this autumn...
Right. I was aware the frames were different size. I am very very tempted to start with the OSB's because they are way simpler to build. However it seems that i'll have to go with normal nats.
So if I understand correctly here, the major 'drawback' of the Rose OSB is the weight of a full super?
Other than that, frames seem to be available from Thornes, so is foundation.
