    Apiary security

Hope I am not posting in the wrong place, but that section seems to be mostly about actual thefts that have occurred. I will check it out anyway. Thanks.

    Bait hives

    Apiary security

I am in the process of organising my first apiary. I have heard many stories about hives getting stolen in the dead of night. No they add their own wax. 'Drawing out' is I guess a bit of a confusing term.

    Cuprinol

The latest info on the Cuprinol web site is that they can no longer advise the use of any of their products, as the new formulation has not yet been tested. My local hive maker rang them in January 2011 and they admitted they have not yet commissioned any tests, so don't hold your breath.

    Cuprinol Preservative

The Cuprinol web site now states that they can no longer recommend any of their products for bee hives, as EU regulations have meant that had to change the formulation. This does not mean that they are unsafe, only that they have not yet retested the new formulations.
