thanks all, I cleaned with bleach, and wasn't happy with how much gunge was still between the mesh and the polystyrene, I don't know why but I thought they would not burrow into it. Cedar

Hi all, Just finished cleaning up a ploy hive the bees over wintered in and when I removed the mesh floor found wax moth larvae burrowed into the polystyrene structure, any one else had this problem. Cheers Cedar

Hi Suzi q We have gone over to demaree method and yes they do continue to work, filling the supers. So you shouldn't have a lose in honey production because all the flying bees still have access to the supers, also if they do raise a queen cell in the top brood box you have a source of queens...

We use 25 kg bags at work and get them delivered dy the pallet load, would have to ask who are supplier is.

I'm hoping as their are plenty of Beeks within a couple of miles of me including a training apiary of over 100 hives that lack of drones won't be an issue. All I can do is watch and wait. C

Hi all, thanks for all your relies. I was going to leave them to it, so you have confirmed my thoughts, also the next decent day Ill do a full inspection and remove some of the excess stores to make more space. Or should I leave them alone for the time being?
