    Importation of bees

It is very difficult reading some of these posts and I am bereft to the extent of mindlessness. We here in Ireland North and South are trying to preserve our native stocks and have made hugh steps to do so, over many decades of careful bee breeding. We find ourselves being trampled on by an...

    Buckfast bees in Ieland

Something I noticed last year was that when I harvested the honey the only bees to produce a surplus was AMM, last year was a particularly poor year but through all the weather the AMM flew, now the lighter mongrel strain although more prolific produced little honey hardly enough to feed...

    Buckfast bees in Ieland

"Docility" unfortunately I have been on the recieving end of a 1st cross Black & Tan not a very nice thing to experience, in their purer form of each yes docility is noticeable. However there is always the "cause and effect" theory. The "cause" for perfect strain and the "effect" of our...

    Buckfast bees in Ieland

Its a good slap on the face for the Irish Black Bee breeders whom wish to have purer strains of native bees in Ireland... Not very considerate wanting to keep buckfast in South East. Busy Bee PS. Sorry "Hivemaker"

I have hives which had a large mite drop 000's & 000's, would it be advisable to do treatment again? or leave well alone at this stage. P.S. Dark Bee colonies had 000's of mites on the drop and hy-brid colonies had very few, thought I would throw that into the mix.. Busy Bee

Country file stat casually thrown out..

We don't belong here and never did..... We were dumped here because out there they needed rid of us so far away that no one would ever come back, or dare to come back for all the destruction we caused in other far away places. Lets face it we went from cave man to iPod in a blink of an eye...

I think it would be better if us humans were extinct at least the planet could evolve naturally the way it should. We can not just leave things alone a finger in everywhere. It will utimately mean self destruction in a very short evolutionary time scale, unfortunately we will take everthing...
