up date tonight inspected my united swarm and x drone laying hive well ive been lucky a very full nuc and ive also got eggs so i got a mated queen in the swarm and no loss of bees will need to move up to a hive very soon :)

We have already got rid of the drone layer And I think the hive was ready for a new queen, did not destroy the last cell placed in the hive (now removed) Any today all looks well from the out side cant see any dead bees and they are bringing in pollen, so fingers crossed that its worked for me...

I also had a drone layer in a nuc I have got rid of the layer buy shaking them out, but still have not had luck getting them to exept a cell Although ive not waited that long And yesterday i picked up a nice swarm no a prime but a good size And put this in the drone laying hive (no drone layer...

I thought as much I have not seen them on potatoes and thought it was only 1 or 2 varieties of bumble bees that worked them will find some beans and move my hives to them

Are Potato flowers of any use have hundreds of acres of them round here Or there are beans about to come into flower as well

attached my first cell yesterday did not want to stick so cut a slver of wood of a pallet and attatched with that as a peg not through the cell though

Found marked and clipped a queen today First time ive clipped a queen Was easy did it with scissor while she was still on the frame Have now found all but one of my queens this year Will clip half and see if its worth while

i will give it a go

I checked two hives to day were the queens have stopped laying One had 4 cells caped in there the bees have not left in a swarm yet Left 1 cell in there Made use of the other 3 cells could not find the queen looked twice shes not marked The other hive no cells found queen found no eggs all...
