    Oxalic Vaporiser

Think a "Mini 5/12/24V DC Infinite Cycle Delay Time Timer Relay Turn ON OFF Switch Module"as found on ebay should do the job but would need a mod to add audio and visual warnings.

    Oxalic Vaporiser

Did wonder if that approach would work but since the remote switch I found on ebay only costs a few pounds it would possibly be the best system to use.

    Oxalic Vaporiser

Sounds like just the item I would need so if you can find any details that would be appreciated as building a custom device may not be cheap.

    Oxalic Vaporiser

Totally accept there is a health and safety issue with the use of OA Obviously we all must have responsibility to ensure the risk is minimized. After all just wearing a mask is no assurance that it does what you believe given I understand only two types of 3M filters actually offer protection...

    Oxalic Vaporiser

This device looks an option. Have placed an order for the vap device in your ebay link Hemo. So will see what current is takes from a 3s lipo as the remote switch device is only rated at 10A. If all else fails a low voltage wired switch on a long lead would work just as well using a suitable...

    Oxalic Vaporiser

This brings up an interesting approach to the problem. Will now do some research on a remote activated switch for the vaporiser power supply so that it can be started remotely whilst standing up wind of the hive being treated. Only have a small number of hives, so any delay whilst waiting for...

    Rape Crop Removal

Thanks all, just looked at the honey I did remove and its still runny, so will get the rest of it off today as currently the sun is shinning here in Bedfordshire. Not sure if there was actually much rape in this crop this year as could not see any in the fields surrounding my location but sure...

    Rape Crop Removal

Went last week to remove my rape crop but found the majority of the frames are still not ripe having done a shake test. The query I now have is how long should I leave the honey for the bees to complete the ripening process? Given the last few days have seen a down turn in the temperature not...

    Honey and gin

For those that cant find sloes, I used brambles this year and half in weight of honey as recommended for sugar as can be found in many recopies for sloe gin. After 3 months of maturing the result is certainly an improvement over a standard G&T.

    Honey Fudge

Recipe on page 3 called for; 1 kg golden caster sugar 1 heaped tablespoon dark soft brown sugar 1 tin (397 g) condensed milk 100 ml gold top milk pinch of salt 300 g organic wildflower honey 75 g unsalted organic butter However due to the lack of golden caster I used...

    Honey Buckets

Tried all of the above ensuring the buckets are dry along with the use of Milton cleaning fluid but nothing seems to work as still end up with mold after 3 - 4 months. Now thinking new bucks each season is the way to go.

    Honey Buckets

Each season I find my honey buckets and settling tank have developed a black mold on the inside. How can this be prevented?
