    What did you do in the Apiary today?

    yesterday my bees (along with some huge bumbles) were filling up with pollen on my dads winter flowering honey suckle. Pleased to see them out and about. Nothing doing today though.

    First winter, and first OA treatment. Went well, they were nice and calm. My hive faces south, on the edge of a field. I would say I had 5 seams of bees. As far as I could tell, they looked good, lively. They did all seem to be on the left of the hive (standing at the entrance). Is this normal...

    Hive Loss

    Although a hive has 1000s of bees in, and you cant get attached individually, like you would a cat or dog maybe, its really sad to hear of a loss like this. I know how sad I would be if I lost mine.

    Thanks, going to do mine today, been waiting for it to arrive, and it turned up this morning. Finally. First winter and there is so much to learn, with such different opinions on here. After a couple of years sure I will learn my bees/area.

    my hive not been that active yet, was one bee out on sunday, wandered back in when i arrived. Should I be worried that they are not more active? everyones hives seem to be so busy.
