place in some polystyrene for bees to sit on... also scratch up the back edge of the 4 upright containers to encourage the bees to walk up the side to

stick duct tape across these pieces and along the edge the lids met the central column

oops forgot to say.. if you really want to feed up (or will not be able to check them for along time) then cut a hole in the middle and insert a tube (effervesent vitamin tablet tubes seem about perfect size) between this and an identical unit above... when it is empty the bees chew up the poly and get out the bottom to clean the whole container.. so either keep it topped up, or be prepared for the odd bee
