I am sat here laughing,I often get brace comb in an empty box but how the hell did you get that pattern ?
They like to build comb depending on the earths magnetic field,did you keep spinning the super ?
 
LOL isn't it a magnificent sort of Space Age Castle type architecture?! It was glorious (but did make me feel like a bit of a klutz for allowing it to happen). I suspect the reason it happened was because I left a round feeder in the empty super, but forgot to separate the empty super and brood box with a crownboard. In the words of The Great Homer Simpson "Doh!" They build comb based on the earth's magnetic field????? Holy cow, that's cool! No I didn't keep spinning the super, but maybe they sort of spun it off the round shape of the feeder? (It was actually attached on one section to the feeder itself).
