    Spend the extra few quid and get a dadent smoker. I am still using my father's that must be 20- 30 years old and gets used almost daily. Cheap ones fall apart much quicker.

    I see exactly the same. Went through 40 colonies on Tuesday with mix of floors (and boxes). All the most advanced ones on solid floors ( top 10) and most of the least advanced on mesh. Makes more of a difference than poly/wood box I think. That said in a few weeks I doubt it will be noticeable...

    From what I have seen the cells are damaged but the bees sort it out in no time. A lot lest destructive than cutting out or or scraping back to mid rib which is the alternative.

    Yes Honey regs are just for honey and not food containing honey. Put somthing else in the jar and you need to comply with the information to the consumer regs
