What's flowering as forage in your area

Spring flow started here. And colonies bursting. Swarm prevention shortly.

    GasVap advice

Butane cylinders not available at Tesco in NI. But the Pargyle suggestion of Fame valley stores provide a cylinder by post. Thanks P. I would never have discovered this.

    Weather

Costa del Fermanagh here - a week of calm dry sunny weather (13-15C). Fields and roadside verges with dandelion flowering at max. Willow still flowering well. Gean (bird cherry) and Milkmaid their best. Apples started flowering. Sycamore will probably be a couple of weeks yet. Fingers crossed...

    GasVap advice

Thanks - but no Go Outdoors in NI. Fingers crossed that the adapter ordered will do the job.

    GasVap advice

Thanks. I have a Sistec blowtorch, so it should be OK. Now all I need to do (?..) is order a universal adapter that will connect a butane/propane fill cylinder to the torch. Hopefully the slightly ill fitting, off centre GasVap copper extension nozzle for a poly hive will not be a problem.

    GasVap advice

My GasVap has arrived but in Northern Ireland butane gas cylinders are not available. However, butane/propane cylinders are available. Has anyone used b/p cylinders without problems?

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Yep - the bees are seem more tolerant of the weather down south than the beekeepers :)

    Beekeeping forum split?

I may start a thread or a discussion. But I do tend to prevaricate.

    Beekeeping forum split?

just stirring a hornet’s nest. I would have responded similarly. From a different perspective, maybe a topic on what beeks are doing to cope with climate trends and extreme weather events?
